The purpose of this Comprehensive Privacy Notice is to protect the personal data of members of its community (students, teachers, parents, and administrative staff), applicants, vendors, and any third party with a direct relationship to “ACOMM”, through the legitimate, controlled, and informed processing of such data, in order to guarantee their privacy, as well as the right to informational self-determination. Likewise, the following may be subject to this Privacy Notice: sensitive data and the image of individuals, which are collected in connection with data processing, the processing of sensitive information, and video recordings from video surveillance cameras at the facilities and access routes to the establishments of “ACOMM”.
What is the right to personal data protection? It is a human right recognized by Article 6 of the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States, which imposes obligations on individuals and legal entities that use personal data, and grants rights to data subjects, in order to ensure the proper use of personal information and the privacy and right to informational self-determination of individuals.
What is personal data? It is any information concerning an identified or identifiable natural person, such as first name, last name, mailing address, phone number, email address, passport number, a photograph, the Unique Population Registry Code (CURP), or any other information that allows the data subject to be identified or makes them identifiable. Personal data may be expressed in numerical, alphabetic, graphic, photographic, acoustic, or any other form. A person is considered identifiable when their identity can be determined through the personal data in question.
What is sensitive personal data? Personal data that affects the most intimate aspects of the data subject's life, or the misuse of which could lead to discrimination or pose a serious risk to the data subject. In particular, data is considered sensitive if it may reveal aspects such as racial or ethnic origin, current and future health status, genetic information, religious, philosophical, and moral beliefs, union membership, political opinions, and sexual orientation. Likewise, the following are considered sensitive personal data: personal images and biometric data obtained by any technological means.

Purposes for which we will use your personal data: Your personal information will be used for the following main purposes, which are necessary in connection with the educational services we will provide to you: 1) To verify your information and documentation; 2) To enroll you in ACOMM, register you in our systems, and create your file as a member of the association; 3) Provide you with information and the services offered by ACOMM; 4) Manage access to the facilities where the courses are held; 5) Invite you and, where applicable, register you to participate in networking activities in order to contribute to the association’s mission; 6) Receive payments, issue payment receipts and account statements, as well as document and pursue collection efforts in the event of outstanding balances; the foregoing may also apply to those individuals responsible for covering the costs of the services we provide to you; 7) Create a member directory; 8) Understand your profile to develop educational strategies, provide you with advice, and track such advice; 9) Address your questions, comments, and suggestions regarding the activities offered by ACOMM; 10) Comply with applicable regulations and requirements of the authorities based on the law.
In addition, your personal information will be used for the following secondary purposes: 11) To send you birthday greetings or congratulations on your achievements; 12) To send you promotional information about our course offerings; 13) To share your image and name, as well as, where applicable, your academic and employment information, for ACOMM’s promotional and statistical purposes; 14) We will use images of members on various platforms such as digital media, social media, and our website, solely to visually represent ACOMM’s curricular or extracurricular activities; 15) To request your cooperation in the preparation of rankings, accreditations, and promotional materials for ACOMM; and 16) All those necessary to comply with any regulatory provision or obligation arising from a legal system or voluntary agreement.
If you do not wish for your personal data to be processed for the secondary purposes listed above, you may withdraw your consent at any time by sending an email to our privacy officer, specifying the secondary purpose(s) for which you do not wish us to use your personal data. Your withdrawal of consent will not affect our ability to provide you with our other services, and you have five business days to submit your request.
Personal data to be collected: To fulfill the purposes described in this comprehensive privacy notice, we will use the following categories of personal data: I) Identification and contact information; II) Academic information; III) Financial and asset information; IV) Personal data considered sensitive: religion, health, disabilities, and indigenous language. These last two types of sensitive data are collected to comply with regulatory requirements and are provided to authorities in an anonymized form for statistical purposes.
Please be advised that we will include in your respective file the personal information collected from you during the admission process, your time at the institution, and, if applicable, your departure from the educational institution.
We also inform you that the following websites: www.acomm.mx use cookies and/or web beacons to collect information about your computer’s internet browsing activity. These cookies are managed by third-party providers such as Google, AdRoll, and DoubleClick to track, optimize, and serve ads based on previous visits to this website. The data collection methods we use do not include information such as your name, email address, mailing address, or phone number. You can disable the cookie function in your browser (in the security settings) to avoid being subject to actions taken with the collected data.
Transfer of Your Personal Data: Your personal data may be transferred to the following individuals or entities, in which cases we do not require your consent: i) Companies or academic institutions with which we have an existing or prospective contract, in order to provide you with academic or financial benefits in connection with the services provided by ACOMM; ii) Authorities to whom we are required to disclose such data by law, for the purpose of complying with applicable regulations.
In addition, your personal data (other than financial, proprietary, or sensitive information) may be transferred to the following individuals or entities, in which cases we do require your consent: i) Institutions that organize training activities, for the purpose of registering you.
We understand that you have consented to the transfer of your personal data unless you object to such transfer through the means we have made known to you and made available to you in accordance with this Privacy Notice. To object to the transfer, you may do so by sending an email to the address direjecutivo@acomm.mx.
Security measures to protect your personal information: Your personal information will be kept strictly confidential, and to reasonably prevent its unauthorized use or disclosure, we have implemented physical, technical, and administrative security measures in accordance with applicable regulations. In particular, we have a privacy lead at ACOMM and a privacy officer for the ACOMM System, a privacy policy, training courses for our employees, restricted access to personal information limited to authorized users, an inventory of personal data (properly classified by data category) and data processing systems, risk analysis, and contractual clauses.
ARCO Rights and Withdrawal of Consent: To the extent permitted by applicable law, you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, how we use it, and the terms under which we process it (Access). Likewise, you have the right to request the correction of your personal information if it is outdated, inaccurate, or incomplete (Rectification); to have it removed from our records or databases when you believe it is not being used in accordance with the provisions of applicable regulations (Cancellation); and to object to the use of your personal data for specific purposes (Oposition). These rights are known as ARCO rights.
You also have the right to withdraw at any time any consent you may have given us to process your personal data, unless this is not permitted under applicable law, in which case we will inform you of this in our response to your request for withdrawal.
How can you exercise your ARCO rights and revoke the consent you have given? As the data subject, you may exercise your ARCO rights (access, rectification, cancellation, and objection to the processing of your personal data), limit the use or disclosure of your data, or revoke the consent you have granted to “ALIANZA DE COLEGIOS CULTURALES DE MÉXICO, A.C.” , for the processing of your personal data, by sending your written request directly to the relevant department at “ACOMM”.
Such request must include at least: (a) your name and address or other means by which we may communicate our response to your request; (b) documents proving your identity or, where applicable, proof of legal representation; (c) a clear and precise description of the personal data for which you are requesting to exercise any of the ARCO rights; (d) an express statement revoking your consent to the processing of your personal data and, therefore, requesting that it not be used; (e) any other information that facilitates the identification of the personal data.
Our privacy officer will ensure the protection of your personal information at all times in compliance with applicable regulations. We also inform you that the Federal Institute for Access to Information and Data Protection is the authority responsible for overseeing compliance with legal provisions regarding the protection of personal data.
Changes to the Privacy Notice: ACOMM may modify and/or update this Privacy Notice, and will post any modifications or updates on our website www.acomm.mx
